Organic Vegetables
Where Can You Find Organic
Vegetables?
If you have decided that you want to find some fresh,
organic vegetables for your family to enjoy, you might be
wondering where you can find them around your home. There
are many places that you can find them, here are just a
few:
Local
Supermarkets Some supermarkets around your
area carry organic fruits and veggies. If you are not
sure which ones do or don’t, you can always call before you
make the trip. If they do, head on down to check out
their selection! Most supermarkets will clearly mark
their organic vegetables so it will be easy for you to see
which ones you are looking for.
Farmer’s
Markets
Pretty much all the fruits and vegetables here are
organic. If you are not sure, all you have to do it ask
the person at the stand. They can also tell you if they
use any kinds of pesticides either on the foods or on the trees
or bushes. All you have to do it ask them, they will be
happy to let you know.
Organic “Pick-it-Yourself”
Farms
Organic “Pick-it-yourself” farms have sprung up all over the
United States lately. Chances are, there is one nearby
your home. If you are not sure, and don’t know anyone who
would know, all you need to do is pick up the phone book.
The farm will be happy to tell you their hours, what kinds of
organic vegetables and fruits they grow, their prices, and how
to get there. (This is also a fun family activity for
everyone to do together, since kids will enjoy getting to pick
their own food.)
Local County
Fairs
This is just one more place that you can find all sorts of
organic fruits and veggies here. But, most of these fairs
are seasonal, so you can only find them once a year. You
can check with your local county information line (usually
through the courthouse) to see when local fairs are.
I hope that this helps you on your quest to find organic
vegetables and fruits for you and your family to enjoy!
