Pet Food – Organic Natural Content

Organic, natural foods are better for humans because they are higher in nutrients and are not contaminated by pesticides or chemical residues from fertilizers.  Children are especially susceptible to the effects of contaminants because their bodies are smaller, so they tolerate smaller amounts of the chemicals.

Pets are the same way.  Their bodies are smaller than ours, and they don’t tolerate contaminants any better than we do.  Pesticides are neurotoxins, and farm workers have been known to suffer neurological damage from them.  How much pesticide would it take for a 12-ounce kitten to suffer neurological damage?  Even pesticides that are supposed to be safe for pets, for killing tics and fleas, should not be used on kittens younger than 12 weeks because they may cause fatal damage to them. For a pet food organic natural, it must be grown and produced under the same standards as human food.  Most people who produce pet food organic natural products also guarantee that there are no animal byproducts—such as hooves, feathers, or beaks—in the food.  Pet food organic natural should, in fact, be safe enough for humans to eat.  (It is not human food, however.  It is formulated for the nutritional needs of pets, not people.)

Pets also do not have the ability to supplement their diets like we do, especially if they are indoor pets.  They eat whatever we give them, and they eat the same thing day after day.  Part of what protects humans from the effects of nutritionally depleted food is that we eat a wide variety of foods.  Your pet doesn’t, so it is even more important that pet food is organic and natural.

Animals kept as pets are vulnerable and dependent on humans.  Feeding them pet food that is organic and natural is one way to take good care of them and ensure that they live long, healthy lives.
